Born in England, raised and educated in Halifax, Canada, I moved to Truckee in 1997. I am married and have two children, Tommy and Isabelle and have lived in Tahoe Donner for 7 years, mostly up by the Cross Country Ski Center. I met my wife, Buff, at a sailing competition in Victoria, Canada and she mentioned she was from Truckee. Like most people who are unfamiliar with Truckee, I said "Excuse me, Where?"
When I finally visited Buff in Truckee, I instantly knew I had found my new home. It had everything: unbelievable beauty, great sailing competition, energetic people and amazing skiing. I knew I had to figure out a way to live in Truckee.
I switched careers to Real Estate over 4 years ago and have since helped many people through the myriad of issues when buying and selling real estate in our snowy climate. I enjoy applying my business knowledge and marketing background to bring a fresh perspective to Real Estate that goes beyond just knowing the local inventory. Buff and I built a home in Tahoe Donner which helped to expand my knowledge of the building process and issues with construction. As one of Truckee's long time engineers, Buff has helped many of our clients with engineering solutions for new homes and additions.
Prior to moving to Truckee, I earned a Master of Business Administration in 1993 and was a former National Sailing Team member, competing internationally in the single-handed Laser Class. I still enjoy competing in our local Laser and Melges 24 fleets and am an active member of the Tahoe Yacht Club. Whenever I'm not otherwise engaged with Real Estate or my children, you'll find me windsurfing, cross country skiing and road biking - keeping the endorphins up!
After all, life is short and you only have one opportunity to make the most of it which is why I live in Truckee. If you dream of living here too, we can make it happen!
